A TV Designed to Look Like Art
LG is set to unveil a new canvas style television called the LG Gallery TV at CES 2026, expanding its push into art focused home displays. The new model will be available in 55 inch and 65 inch sizes and features a flush wall mount design intended to resemble framed artwork rather than a traditional television.
Display Technology and Performance
The LG Gallery TV uses a Mini LED panel paired with the company’s Alpha 7 AI processor and delivers 4K resolution. LG says the TV was developed in collaboration with museum curators and includes a dedicated Gallery Mode that fine tunes brightness and color accuracy to highlight texture and detail in displayed artwork.
The TV will automatically adjust picture settings based on ambient light throughout the day, helping maintain consistent image quality. LG has also included glare reduction and reflection handling, though the company has not shared detailed specifications on those features.
Gallery Plus and AI Generated Art
A key feature of the new model is support for LG Gallery+, a paid subscription service offering access to more than 4,500 curated artworks. Users will also be able to display personal photos or generate custom images using built in generative AI tools, turning the TV into a dynamic digital canvas.
Design Customization
Customization is central to the Gallery TV concept. LG is offering magnetic frames in different styles, allowing users to tailor the look of the display to match their interior design. When mounted, the TV sits flush against the wall to further reinforce the appearance of framed art.
Building on LG’s Gallery Line
This is not LG’s first attempt at blending art and television design. The company released the ultra thin LG GX Gallery TV in 2020 and has offered wall flush Gallery Design models in recent years. However, the new Gallery TV places a stronger emphasis on art presentation and curated content.
Competition in the Art TV Market
With its focus on aesthetics and artwork, the LG Gallery TV positions itself as a direct competitor to Samsung’s The Frame and the Hisense CanvasTV. As art inspired televisions continue to gain popularity, LG appears to be sharpening its approach with more specialized features aimed at design conscious buyers.
