Samsung has unveiled its newest addition to the Galaxy Buds lineup: the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. Priced at $150, they are $100 cheaper than the flagship Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. While the design closely resembles the premium Pro version, the Buds 3 FE simplify some features to deliver a more affordable option without losing the essentials. They will be available starting September 4 in black and gray.

Design and Features

The Galaxy Buds 3 FE adopt the same “blade” design as the Pro model but exclude the LED lighting element. Unlike the dual-driver system in the Buds 3 Pro, the FE edition uses a single dynamic driver. Despite these cutbacks, Samsung has retained many key features, including active noise canceling, transparency mode, and a noise-isolating fit with silicone tips.

AI integration is a major highlight, with support for Gemini conversational assistance and the Galaxy AI Interpreter app, enabling real-time translation for phone calls.

Performance Expectations

While reviewers have yet to test the Buds 3 FE, a slight performance gap is expected compared to the Pro version, which features both planar and dynamic drivers for enhanced clarity and treble response. However, Samsung’s Crystal Clear Call technology, paired with three microphones per bud, aims to ensure strong call quality. Battery life is rated at up to six hours with active noise canceling on, plus three extra charges in the case.

Pricing and Trade-In Options

At $150, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE undercut the $250 Buds 3 Pro, with trade-in promotions offering up to $30 off for any wired or wireless headset. Discounts are expected to make the FE model even more accessible, with holiday sales potentially driving prices close to $100. Meanwhile, the Buds 3 Pro are already available at reduced prices, including international versions selling for as low as $125 on Amazon.

Key Specifications

  • Weight per bud: 5 grams
  • 1-way dynamic driver
  • Active noise canceling and transparency modes
  • 3 microphones with Samsung Crystal Clear Call technology
  • Bluetooth 5.4
  • Battery life: Up to 6 hours with ANC on, plus three charges in case

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 FE offer a streamlined version of the flagship Buds 3 Pro at a significantly lower price. With noise canceling, AI integration, and Galaxy ecosystem features, they provide strong value for users seeking premium functions without the premium price tag. As discounts arrive, the FE model is likely to become one of the most competitive earbuds in its segment.
