NVIDIA has officially released DLSS 4.5, expanding its image upscaling technology for users with GeForce RTX graphics cards. The update follows a recent announcement at CES and aims to deliver improved image quality, reduced visual artifacts, and better performance across hundreds of supported games and applications.

What DLSS 4.5 Brings

DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution introduces enhanced visual clarity and stronger temporal stability. According to NVIDIA, the update significantly reduces ghosting while improving anti aliasing, resulting in cleaner and more consistent visuals during fast motion scenes. These improvements apply to more than 400 games and creative applications that already support DLSS.

Second Generation Super Resolution Transformer

At the core of DLSS 4.5 is NVIDIA’s second generation Super Resolution Transformer model. The company says this version uses five times more compute power than the original transformer and has been trained on a much larger and higher fidelity dataset. This allows the system to better reconstruct fine details while maintaining visual stability frame to frame.

Availability and System Requirements

The full release of DLSS 4.5 is now available to all NVIDIA app users with a GeForce RTX GPU. The update follows a beta release made available last week and can be installed directly through the NVIDIA application without additional configuration.

Upcoming Frame Generation Enhancements

NVIDIA also confirmed plans to introduce an upgraded frame generation feature later this spring for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. The upcoming Dynamic 6x Frame Generation technology is designed to create up to five additional frames for every traditionally rendered frame. NVIDIA claims this could enable path traced gaming at up to 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rates.

Conclusion

The release of DLSS 4.5 reinforces NVIDIA’s focus on AI driven rendering and performance optimization. With improved image quality today and more advanced frame generation planned for the coming months, the update represents another step forward in high performance gaming and graphics technology.
