Amazon Deal on Retro-Inspired Gamepad
The 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller, released in late July, is on sale for the first time at Amazon. The reimagined Nintendo 64 wireless controller is discounted to $27.69, down from $40. Currently, only the white edition is available at the reduced price, while the black edition has been restocked at full price.
Compatibility and Features
Developed in partnership with Analogue, the 8BitDo 64 works with Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC, and Android devices. Firmware updates may be required for Switch 2 pairing. For Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, the controller offers an updated way to enjoy N64 classics.
The controller features a redesigned shape inspired by the 8BitDo Ultimate series. It includes a Hall Effect joystick with a metal ring to prevent drift, a rubberized cap, and an octagonal stick gate to replicate the original N64’s eight-way directional input. The large A/B and four C buttons retain the N64 layout, while shoulder and trigger buttons have been updated to modern standards. Dual Z-triggers offer flexibility for non-N64 games.
Customization Options
Additional features include Turbo, remappable controls, and compatibility with 8BitDo Ultimate Software for desktop and mobile. The controller supports S-Input (Switch) and D-Input, with limited rumble functionality available on Analogue 3D and Switch.

Analogue 3D Console
The 8BitDo 64 was announced alongside Analogue’s 3D console, designed to play original N64 cartridges with FPGA-based, hardware-accurate emulation in up to 4K. Priced at $250, the console sold out during preorder last October and is expected to launch in Q4 2025. It features four controller ports but does not include a gamepad, making the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller a natural companion for retro enthusiasts.
